Cricle is a free daily cricket guessing game, run as a hobby project under the name Cricle. Questions about your data: playcricle@gmail.com.
What's stored
- A guest ID. When you first play, the game creates an anonymous account for you: a random ID with no name or email attached.
- Your games. Who you guessed, whether you opened hints, and when you finished. This gives you your stats and streak, the "how everyone did" chart and the leaderboards.
- Your leaderboard name. One is picked for you (like "Gully 37") until you choose your own. It's shown to everyone on the leaderboards.
- If you sign in with Google: your email address and the name on your Google account, so the game can recognise you on other devices. They're never shown to other players and never used to contact you.
- Sponsor counts. To tell sponsors how many people saw and clicked their slot, the game counts each time a sponsor slot is on screen for a second or clicked. Only daily totals are kept. So one person can't be counted over and over, your guest ID is noted against that day's count and deleted after two days. No cookies are used for this.
- On your device: your browser keeps your sign-in so you don't lose your game. That's needed for the game to work, so it isn't optional.
- Visit counting, only if you allow it. If you press Allow on the cookie bar, Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits: which pages are opened, roughly where visitors are in the world, what device they use, how they found Cricle, and when games are finished or shared. It never receives your account, your email or which players you guessed. If you press No thanks, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all. Change your mind any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the game.
If you contact us about sponsorship
The details you send on the sponsor page (name, company, email, website, message) are stored by Netlify, which hosts the site, and emailed to us. They're only used to reply to you, and deleted if nothing comes of it.
Who handles it
- Supabase runs the game's database and sign-in, on servers in London.
- Netlify hosts the website. Like any web host it sees your IP address when you load the page.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with it, or allow visit counting (Google's privacy policy). Advertising features in Google Analytics are switched off.
The fonts and player photos are served from this site, so unless you allow visit counting, loading the game doesn't contact anyone else.
Why
Only to run the game you've chosen to play: keeping your record, counting results and showing leaderboards. Nothing is sold or shared for any other purpose.
How long
For as long as your account exists. Guest accounts that haven't played for 12 months may be deleted.
Your choices
- Delete everything at any time: Your stats and account > Delete my data. It removes your results, your leaderboard name and your account straight away.
- Change your leaderboard name on the leaderboard page.
- To see a copy of your data or ask anything else, email playcricle@gmail.com.
- If you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
